Whew, incredible show. Sold-out, biggest acoustic show he's done yet, says our hero, who was in a great mood. Wife thought it was incredible too, so now she's a convert! NYC is an expensive, crazy place to live, but there's nothing else like it-- the place was packed, and people were rowdy but not disruptive, and were singing along to ALL the songs -- he definitely felt it and fed off of it. He was berating some guy who kept requesting "When the Night Comes" as a "relentless motherfucker" (it was funny, not angry) and got into a funny argument with some dude who kept asking for "Freebird"...but then he did 2minutes of "Freebird," (!) followed by a riff from "Smoke on the Water" (!!) and then "Stairway to Heaven" (!!!)

Other highlights: deciding halfway through "Please Forgive Me" that it would make a nice country song and doing it in a southern drawl; doing a very funny classic New York Jewish mother impersonation several times (he lost his wallet in 81 in NYC and a nice Streisandish woman returned it, saying "I want you to know there's one honest person in NYC" -- he then returned to the impersonation when a woman in the crowd sort of sounded like her)...also told a story of heading down to the Village, some guy spotted him, but then all he had to say was "I saw you open for Journey"...Gary was indeed a terrific add and Adams (surprise!) forgot the lyrics all over the place...

He began with "Run to You" and later did "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman" with Gary doing the Spanish guitar parts on piano...it was very good, though...anyway, here's the setlist:
